I have been using the JARROW Bone-Up formula for several months now. It is full of incredible ingredients. Many calcium products cause upset stomachs-this one has never bothered me. My fingernails are growing thicker and much longer. That is miraculous for me. It's just a wonderful part of this great calcium. I had this product recommended to me by a long-time health practitioner. I was having foot surgery and faced having the large bone "broken", pared and screwed back together. I didn't want to be down for longer than necessary. I asked what I could take to get the bone to heal faster. He recommended Bone-Up (it's the form of calcium the product contains he actually recommended) and vinegar water daily (tsp in a glass of water). Said it would make my healing go 50% faster by helping the calcium to stick where it should be. The surgeon x-rayed my foot at 4 weeks out and exclaimed that I was at 12 weeks of healing. He danced around the room. Said he could not believe it. Fact is, at 6 weeks I was running 3 miles again. Use of this formuls has also stopped the development of osteopenia. This confirmed by bone studies. I recommend this product, but do use some vinegar water, too.

Instead of the old standard calcium carbonate, which does not absorb well by the body, this mix by Jarrow Formula is great. I feel like I am getting the essential nutrients needed to build and maintain strong bones and teeth. Goes well with Strontium Bone Maker which I take in the evening. I'll be ordering more!

My wife and I started taking bone up after watching a health show on TV and this product was recommended by the host of the show. I did a web search and found iHerb.com and so we ordered and have been taking bone up for close to a year or more.We like the product, take it every day and we like the ingredients. My self, I like the protein as I lift heavy weights and Im 74. My wife is 84, weighs 105lbs and had a bad fall on her backside and ended up with 2 cracks on her pelvic. Most of its ingredients are very good for building our bone except the added Mag. oxide. Many reports said,this form of Mag. is harder to absorb by our body. In such case ,how our body can balance the well absorbed Calcium out of MCHA ? Some available products already reflect this fact,and changed it to some easy absorbed forms( like Magnesium oxide binding with amino acid )to assist absorbility. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and osteopenia 5 years ago. After researching articles across the internet, I began taking Bone-Up, strontium, Vit D3 and K2. My bones have returned to normal. An article I read at that time noted that Jarrow was the only company that passed California's laws on lead levels in calcium products. I like just about everything about Jarrow's Bone-up. It has all the necessary synergistic nutrients (at meaningful dosages) to ensure high calcium absorption and offers Calcium hydroxyapapite which has proven to be more soluble than carbonate. It is a high quality product which I've taken for months now to counteract Osteopenia. But my stomach acid is low and I switched to Calcium malate and gluconite which have higher absorbability. I still consider it excellent - make sure you distribute the 6 capsules during the day and take it with food!

After having gone to a nutritionist and gotten a list of things that I was suppose to take for my 'pre' osteoporosis, I went home and researched calcium products. Bone-up was the only one I could find that had all of the ingredients the nutritionist suggested. I've been taking it for years, and am very happy with it. Originally, I was taking the vegetarian boneup. The only difference is that has vitamin d2 v. d3, which is derived from animal sources but supposedly assimilates into your system better. If you don't have a problem with using D3, the regular bone-up is fine, a bit cheaper and in capsule form, which I like better. I also felt I needed better Vitamin D absorption than I was getting so, even though I'm a vegetarian in all other respects, I take the regular Bone-up along with an extra 2400 iu's of Vitamin D3/day. If you are a vegan or strict vegetarian and D2 works for you, the vegetarian Bone-up is the same in all other respects. But I would also increase your intake of Vitamin D2 as well, since recent studies have shown that what we normally get is not quite enough. Get bloodwork done and ask your doctor how much is right for you.

I've been using this product inconsistently for several years. However, after two major shoulder reconstructive surgeries (both shoulders) in 7 months and creaking in my right knee, I decided to get consistent with it. I don't always take the recommended 6 capsules/day (I am only 45 years old), but I am consistent taking at least 3 6-7 days/week. I believe it has sped up the healing of my poor shoulders, and the beginning to be chronic creaking and mild pain in my right knee are gone! I believe this is from the formula Jarrow provides in Bone Up. I also have multiple sclerosis and believe it has helped me (with other supplements and pharmaceutical medications) to feel a bit stronger and have more physical stamina. I'd recommend this for anyone over 40 who is beginning to experience orthopedic issues (e.g., stiff joints, creaking, pain), although exercise and consultation with doctors are essential, too!
