How To Reduce the Look of Cellulite
Did you know that your favorite morning brew can also give your a glowing complexion and smooth, cellulite-free skin? Believe it or not, it can!
When applied topically, the caffeine and other antioxidants in the coffee work to tighten and energize skin while also promoting circulation. This gives it the ability to smooth out skin and reduce cellulite.
How It Works?
The caffeine in coffee helps redistribute fat cells and decrease the formation of cellulite when you apply it as a body scrub. It also acts as a vasorestrictor, tightening and shrinking blood vessels so it helps eliminate varicose veins.
Try this kind of body scrub recipe – it has been used for years in spas in Brazil, Hawaii and Bali.

The fruit has extraordinarily high vitamin C content (302% of the Daily Value per 100 g, table), good levels of potassium, phosphorus, iron and vitamin B5, and a broad range of other essential nutrients (nutrient table, right).
Other phytochemicals in the fruit (polyphenols/anthocyanins) have been demonstrated in laboratory experiments with potential to inhibit inflammation mechanisms suspected to be at the origin of heart disease, cancer, microbial infections or neurological disorders like Alzheimer's disease. Major anthocyanins in blackcurrant pomace are delphinidin-3-O-glucoside, delphinidin-3-O-rutinoside, cyanidin-3-O-glucoside, and cyanidin-3-O-rutinoside which are retained in the juice concentrate among other yet unidentified polyphenols.
Blackcurrant seed oil is also rich in many nutrients, especially vitamin E and several unsaturated fatty acids including alpha-linolenic acid and gamma-linolenic acid. In a human pilot study, ingestion of blackcurrant seed oil by mothers reduced atopic dermatitis in their breast-fed newborns who were supplemented with the oil over two years.
A coffee bean is the seed of the coffee plant (the pit inside the red or purple fruit often referred to as a cherry). Even though they are seeds, they are referred to as 'beans' because of their resemblance to true beans. The fruits - coffee cherries or coffee berries - most commonly contain two stones with their flat sides together. In a crop of coffee, a small percentage of cherries contain a single bean, instead of the usual two. This is called a peaberry. Like brazil nuts and white rice, coffee beans consist mostly of endosperm .
The two most economically important varieties of coffee plant are the Arabica and the Robusta. 75-80% of the coffee produced worldwide is Arabica and 20% is Robusta. . Arabica beans consist of 0.8-1.4% caffeine and Robusta beans consist of 1.7-4% caffeine. . As coffee is one of the world's most widely consumed beverages, coffee beans are a major cash crop, and an important export product, counting for over 50% of some developing nations' foreign exchange earnings. The United States imports more coffee than any other nation . The average person in the United States consumed 4.09kg (9lbs) of coffee in the year 2009.
Reduces the Appearance of Cellulite
The caffeine in coffee scrubs can make your cellulite temporarily less noticeable for two reasons, according to Lydia Evans, a consulting dermatologist for L'Oreal Paris, in Elle Canada magazine. First, caffeine has a diuretic effect, which helps speed fluid on its way, reducing the telltale puckering and puffiness associated with cellulite. Caffeine also tightens up cells and blood vessels, resulting in a slimmer appearance. The results aren't permanent, so if you want to maintain a smoother look, you'll need to scrub up again when you start to notice dimpling, says Yves Hebert, a Montreal-based physician specializing in aesthetic medicine, in Elle Canada.

Protects Against Signs of Aging
Opt for a coffee scrub that contains coffee berries as well as coffee beans, and you'll be getting one of the most powerful skin-care antioxidants out there, says Leslie Baumann, professor and director of cosmetic dermatology at the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine, in Allure magazine. Coffee berry penetrates your skin to battle the free radicals caused by sun damage and pollution that are the major cause of the wrinkles, fine lines and age spots associated with aging, says Marc DuPere, a Toronto-based cosmetic plastic surgeon and consultant for Revaleskin, in Elle Canada magazine.
Soothes Irritation and Redness
If you have sensitive skin, coffee scrub may help soothe it by tightening your blood vessels, temporarily but effectively relieving swelling and redness, according to Howard Fein, director of dermatologic surgery at Harbor UCLA Medical Center, in Allure magazine. Coffee scrub can significantly reduce redness and may even reduce the redness caused by the skin condition rosacea, though more research is needed to confirm its potential, says Jeannette Graf, clinical professor of dermatology at New York University, in Allure magazine.

The tips for using a coffee scrub are same as listed for sugar scrubs above, with a few additions:
After applying a coffee scrub, allow it to sit on your skin for two to five minutes. This allows your skin to receive the benefit contained in coffee, such as reducing the appearance of cellulite, tightening your skin, and reducing varicose veins.
Make sure that you have a clear shower drain before using a coffee scrub. Coffee doesn’t melt like sugar and can potentially block an already clogged drain.
Enjoy the light scent of delicious coffee on your skin all day!
